Tropica Substrate

My last tank had constant algae issues, but since layering this stuff under the gravel, the plants are finally taking off without throwing off my pH. The fact it doesn't affect KH or pH was a huge selling point for me.

I was worried about messing with my water chemistry, but this stuff is completely neutral—my pH and KH haven't budged. It's a bit of a hassle to lay down before the gravel, but the plant roots are clearly loving it, and I haven't needed to add anything else in months.

Layer this under the gravel when you set up the tank and it's quietly working its magic for the plants. I love that it doesn't mess with my water's pH or KH, since I keep delicate fish. Roots are taking off noticeably faster than my last setup.
