My shrimp started breeding within a week of adding these leaves, and the tannins give the water a beautiful amber tint. They soften the water just enough to keep my betta's fins stress-free without clouding the tank.

My betta’s tank finally looks like the shaded, slow-moving puddles he’d naturally call home—the water’s taken on that soft amber tint and he’s way more active since I dropped in a couple leaves. They sink on their own after a day, which is handy since I’m lazy about weighing things down.

These leaves aren't huge, but one large leaf in my five-gallon tank tints the water a nice light tea color within a day. My shrimp seem more active and are grazing on them which is cool. I do wish they sank immediately without having to boil them first, though.
