My tap water was way too soft for my Lake Tanganyika setup, but this buffer brought the pH up to 8.0 and stabilized it within a day. It’s nice that it raises the KH without messing with the GH, which is exactly what I needed.

My African cichlids perked up and colored within hours of using this, and the pH locked in at 8.1 just as promised. The fact that it raises KH without adding extra hardness is exactly what my setup needed.

Finally, my cichlids are thriving since I started using this buffer to raise the KH and pH together without messing with GH. It dissolves clear and brings the water right into that 7.8–8.4 range that my Victorians need.
