JBL Manado Substrate

My rotala has never looked this lush—the porous grains really seem to lock in nutrients for the roots. After two weeks, I’ve noticed way less algae, which is a huge relief.

My plants have really taken off since switching to this substrate—the porous grains hold onto nutrients long after dosing. The water stays clear, too, which was a nice surprise.

Dropped a bag of this into my tank and the plants look noticeably greener after a week. The porous texture seems to hold nutrients well, though a few pieces floated before fully soaking. Overall solid improvement for the money.
