I was a little worried it would look too fake, but the ceramic texture actually blends in nicely with my gravel. My cichlid immediately started checking it out as a hiding spot, which is exactly what I wanted.

I was worried my corys would never actually use a cave, but within a day they claimed it. The ceramic finish looks natural against the gravel and doesn't have that cheap plasticky shine. Best of all, I can still see the eggs tucked inside without lifting anything out.

The ceramic is heavy enough that it stays put on the gravel without me burying it, which is exactly what I wanted. My corys finally have a proper cave and I can still peer in and see them hanging out inside.
