JBL Mount ASO Soil Brown

My plants took off after I switched to this substrate—the grains are just the right size for root growth. The dark brown color makes the tank look more natural than my old gravel did.

The granules are dense and settle quickly, so the water cleared up within a day of setup. My plants took to it right away and I didn’t need to layer anything else underneath, which saved me a step.

My betta’s colors popped noticeably after just a week with this soil—the granules are small enough for his roots to grip easily. Cleaned the water faster than my old gravel ever did.
