JBL ProScape Volcano Mineral Substrate

The roots of my plants are spreading through the granules much faster than with the standard gravel I used before. The volcanic rock’s porous texture really holds onto the beneficial bacteria, keeping the water clear even after a week.

I was worried about clouding my water, but this substrate settled crystal clear within hours. The grains are a nice uniform size, which made planting my foreground plants a breeze.

The porous volcanic rock really locks in plant roots, and my tank's water cleared up faster than with any other gravel I've tried. It's heavy enough to stay put during water changes, which is a nice bonus.
