Category: Aquarium Plants

Large motherplant, grown in a 9 cm square pot.

This beautiful plant is a hybrid between Echinodorus horemanii ‘Red’ and Echinodorus horizontalis. It was first produced in 1986 by Hans Barth in Dessau and becomes 25-40 cm tall and a rosette from 15-25 cm wide.

New underwater leaves are a beautiful pink, and initially the leaves have red-brown spots. A nutritious bottom promotes growth, but otherwise Echinodorus 'Rosé' is undemanding and thus an excellent plant for beginners.

Elizabeth D. ★★★★★

The pot was packed so well that not a single leaf was bent, and the root system in that 9 cm square pot is absolutely massive. It's already throwing out a new red-tinted leaf, which tells me this hybrid is going to be a stunner in the back of my tank.

Violet ★★★★☆

The leaves arrived with a few small tears despite careful packaging, but after a week in the tank, the broad, reddish-green blades have really opened up and look stunning. It's clearly a sizable motherplant, just as described, and the root system in the pot was impressive. Takes a bit of patience to

I wasn’t expecting it to be this big—the 9 cm pot is no joke, but the root system seems decent. It’s settled in well after a week, though a couple of older leaves are melting off. Still, for the price, it’s a solid plant if you have the tank space.
